2 Christian Resources That Will Stir Your Heart for God Again
life & godliness (6.4.26)
Sorry, no personal audio for this one.
In this semi-regular post, I will share what I enjoy in life that you might also appreciate (or at least get to know me and my quirks better). In addition, I will share things to stir godliness in your life.

A Heart Aflame for God: A Reformed Approach to Spiritual Formation
This book was only released last year and is already an award winning classic. Now I don’t tell you that to be impressed. There have been tons of books that have won awards and I’ve cocked my head to the side and wondered how or why.
But as I have read this one, I soon realized I could be highlighting and underlining something in virtually every paragraph.
Have you every read a book like that? This is that kind of book.
I’ve taken my time to read and reflect to allow God’s proper stirring of my own heart’s issues that this book wonderfully addresses.
I encourage you too pick it up.
A Heart Aflame for God is a must-read book for all Christians.

Three (Hard) Quotes for the Christian Life
This recommended reading is soo good! But here’s a warning. It may hit you hard between the eyes. It’s rare I find s0 many good quotes in one article. But this is a diamond mine of good material. Rebekah writes:
Recently I was reminded of three challenging, life-changing quotes that aren’t from the Bible, but are particularly convicting in terms of how Christians are set apart for God. They touch on areas of our lives that we don’t especially like to think about or talk about freely with others:
Our lack of self-control with our words;
Our envy of other Christians;
And our fear of suffering.
Let me share with you one of over 9 quotes this article shares about these topics.
This one is about the envy of others:
“The Lord may let others be honored and put forward, and keep you hidden in obscurity, because He wants you to produce some choice, fragrant fruit for His coming glory, which can only be produced in the shade. He may let others be great, but keep you small. He may let others do a work for Him and get the credit for it, but He will make you work and toil on without knowing how much you are doing; and then to make your work still more precious, He may let others get the credit for the work which you have done, and thus make your reward ten times greater when Jesus comes.”
G.D. Watson, Pastor during the 1800’s to early 1900’s.
