For 1 Glory is a ministry that encourages Christians to finish well by persevering in their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. That is to say, true believers and followers of Jesus Christ, who have placed their present and eternal lives in His almighty act of saving His chosen people, are exhorted to finish the race set before them and to stir their future hope, trust, and love in Jesus until He calls them home.
The implication is simple- Jesus is the Author and Perfecter of our Faith (Hebrews 12:2). If I were to look you in the eyes, I’d say compassionately and earnestly, “God is not done with you. Jesus is near to the fainthearted. Keep working out your faith in fear and trembling with the confidence that he who began a good work in you will finish it to completion. Don’t give up! Don’t give in!” (See Philippians 2:12-13)
To accomplish this is certainly not found in our strength, and we never intended to do it alone. We all need encouragement, exhortation, stirring, and reminding.
That is the heart of “For 1 Glory.”
Yet, for proper motivation, our lives need to be recalibrated to live for something greater than ourselves. Taking from the very purposes of God’s created order in Genesis chapters 1 and 2, as image-bearers of God, our lives are to reflect, resemble, and represent to all of creation the greatness, wonder, grace, love, honor, glory, and power of God. This is found in those who have actively placed their trust in Jesus Christ
The implication is simple- We are created with a purpose to glorify God. That means we are to live, speak, think, and love in humble ways that acknowledge His strength, grace, and existence as the One true God in total control.
To accomplish this is (also) certainly not found in our strength and never intended to be done alone. We all need encouragement, exhortation, stirring, and reminding.
That is the reason this ministry is called “For 1 Glory”.
With all that in mind (and thank you, if you’ve made it this far) I’ve distilled the purpose of this ministry in this statement:
Encouraging Christians to finish well by living for something greater than themselves.
